1. We begin by evaluating the specific needs of each classroom. We aim to keep our classes well-balanced. For example, if a class has a higher number of returning boys, we may prioritize female applicants to support a healthy classroom dynamic. We also look for balance across grade levels. We’ve found small group learning works best for our blended classes when there is even representation from each grade.

2. Next, we thoughtfully review each application to see if we can support each student well, based on their unique learning style and academic needs.

3. Next, we will contact any current Bear Creek family reference or other references you listed on your application.

4. We’ll then schedule a phone call with a parent to get to know one another and ensure our school is a good mutual fit for your family.

5. In most cases, we will then request your child’s most recent report card and/or a handwritten letter written by the student introducing themselves. These last steps simply help us understand where your student is academically so we can determine how well we’re able to meet them where they are.

We will email all families with accepted applications by August 15th, to let them know their child has been offered a spot. After receiving that email, families will have 5 days to confirm and accept their placement. If you do not accept your spot in 5 days, you risk losing it. When you reply to the acceptance email and confirm that you’d like to claim a spot, you’ll need to pay the registration fee to officially reserve it. Detailed instructions for submitting the fee will be included in your acceptance email.

If you do not hear from us by August 15th, it means we are unable to offer your child a spot at this time.

If your child doesn’t receive a spot this year, we encourage you to apply again next year! While we do not keep a waitlist for future years, we will announce on our website and Facebook page when the application window opens for the 2026–2027 school year.
